Wish you were here!

Dear friend,

I am on vacation!  I am so glad I changed my bulbs to energy efficient Total Spectrum bulbs.  I saved hundreds of dollars! I will have dollar savings every year on my electric bill. I am already thinking about next year's vacation.

I love the white light in my house…it is so comfortable and soothing.  I can even see better when I read, work at my hobbies or work on my computer. Everyone in the family loves the light…it feels like daylight!

                                Having fun!      Your friend

Replacing Incandescent Bulbs

Replacing incandescent bulbs with energy efficient Total Spectrum bulbs can save electricity and money.  They last 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs and cost 75% less to use over their lifetime!

Energy costs are rising dramatically.  Start saving NOW!

BULBS: Energy Savings

Use energy efficient Total Spectrum bulbs and save energy and dollars on your electric bill! They consume less electricity compared to incandescent or halogen bulbs.

  • Replace a 100 watt incandescent bulb with an energy efficient 20 watt Total Spectrum bulb and save 80 watts. This is an 80% savings.

  • Replace a 60 watt incandescent bulb with an energy efficient 11 watt Total Spectrum bulb and save 49 watts. This is an 82% savings.

  • Replace a 150 watt incandescent bulb with an energy efficient 23 watt Total Spectrum bulb and save 127 watts. This is an 85% savings.

NOTE: A watt is a measurement of electricity used. It does not measure light produced.

BULBS: Dollar Savings

The energy savings is reflected in a lower electric bill which should reflect in dollar savings.

EXAMPLE:

The cost per kilowatt hour (KWH) is 12˘. A bulb is used an average of 6 hours daily for 365 days or 2190 hours annually.

  • A 100 watt bulb uses .10 kilowatts per hour. The annual cost for operating the bulb would be $26.28. The cost for operating the bulb for 4 years would be $105.12 plus the incandescent bulb would have been replaced 7 - 8 times over 4 years.

  • A 20 watt Total Spectrum bulb uses .02 kilowatts per hour. The annual cost for operating the bulb would be $5.26. The cost for operating the bulb 4 years would be $21.04. The original bulb should still be in use because of the rating of 10,000 hours.

The dollar savings for a 4 year period is substantial in the example illustrated above. There is a savings of $84.04 plus the cost of 7 - 8 incandescent bulbs. Additional savings should be seen during the months when air conditioning is used. The energy efficient Total Spectrum bulbs produce less heat than incandescent and halogen bulbs because they use less electricity. If less heat is produced in a room, the air conditioner would likely run less resulting in dollar savings.

Using the example illustrated previously, if five 100 watt incandescent bulbs are replaced with five 20 watt Total Spectrum bulbs, the annual savings would be $105.25 plus the cost of replacement incandescent bulbs. The 4 year savings would be $420.20 plus the cost of approximately 35 - 40 replacement incandescent bulbs.

The initial cost of a Total Spectrum bulb is an investment in future dollar savings, better lighting and a more comfortable environment.

SAVING THE ENVIRONMENT

Using Total Spectrum bulbs is an important tool in energy conservation.

Energy conservation benefits our environment besides benefitting us economically.

Using less energy means that less energy is used by our power plants.

This results in less emissions into the earth's atmosphere which affects pollution, global warming and acid rain. Use of our natural resources of coal, oil and natural gas is reduced when we reduce our energy consumption.

We can make a difference in preserving our planet!

COMPUTE YOUR ENERGY DOLLAR COST

Energy dollar costs can be calculated with the following information and formulas.

FORMULA FOR ANNUAL ENERGY
DOLLAR COST FOR A BULB

Cost of Kilowatt
Per Hour

x

Kilowatts Used
Per Hour

x

Annual Hours Used

  1. Cost per Kilowatt Hour – KWH (Check your electric bill for this information or contact your electric company.

  2. Kilowatts used per hour – This is determined by dividing your bulb wattage by 1000.
EXAMPLES: -  A 100 watt bulb uses .10 kilowatts per hour.
                                    (100 divided by 1000 equals .10)
                             -  A 20 watt bulb uses .02 kilowatts per hour.
                                    (20 divided by 1000 equals .02)

  3. Average number of hours the bulb is used daily

  4. Number of hours the bulb is used annually  (Multiply the average number of hours of daily use by 365 (number of days in a year)

  5. Annual energy dollar cost for a bulb is determined
